How to reach Amritsar? THINGS TO DO IN AMRITSAR IN 2 DAYS

Amritsar is well connected with every state of India via train, flight, and roads. The train is the least expensive approach to venture out to Amritsar. One of the significant driving stations among Amritsar and different states is Ambala. You can reach Ambala by train and catch any local or express trains to Amritsar. It will take you around 4 to 5 hours to reach, depending on the trains. Opting for a bus is also convenient, but it takes more time than trains.

Where to stay?

There are various hotels, homestays, gurudwaras, and hostels available, depending on your budget you can choose.

Places to visit.

  1.         Golden temple

The Golden temple is a gurudwara in Amritsar known as harmandir sahib or darbar sahib (abode of god). Remember to view the golden temple at night time, because of its magnificent beauty. Delicious Langar is served here. Serving Langar is volunteered and it serves around 40000 to 50000 deities on daily basis. The number can rise up to 100,000 on any given occasion.

These are the places closest to each other where you can give an equal and sufficient amount of time and enjoy the ambiance, Instead of rushing into things to see everything in one day.

While visiting these places, do not forget to visit local markets and buy a memoir in the form of artifacts, apparel, and food items. Items such as papad, achar, statues, Phulkari embroidery work textiles, Pakistani juttis, handicrafts, dry fruits, carpets. You can consult locals as well if you are really into buying something unique.

What to eat?

While you are hustling, do not forget to fill your stomach with some Punjabi delicacies and savor each bite. Amritsari kulchhe, (stuffed puffed maida roti cooked in tandoor), Pindi chhole with puri (Chickpea cooked in dark spicy gravy). Jalebi and Lassi ‘Tusīṁ pajāba ā'ē hō atē lasī dī kōśiśa nahīṁ kītī?’ (you came to Punjab and haven't tried lassi?) Along with these delicacies try some regional dishes in roadside dhabas. Most of the dhabbas have some of the specialty, you just have to dig into it (make sure to have extra time to hunt such restaurants and dhabbas).
